Project: Audience Involvement Art

I development this project under my own curiosity of wanting to know what people…

This was my first attempt at engaging the Audience to purposely create their mark on my work and I luckily was given the opportunity to freely put this work inside the SFSU Senior Art Show. I was being a smart ass by titling this work “Zach Sesar’s Best Art Work” but this was from an understanding it is really not about me. When I put a work up on the wall to share with all in all I don’t get to say one word about the emotion, meaning, feeling, understanding, and techniques of why I performed that piece in that manner. This sometimes makes an artist have a feeling of being helpless so I asked for your help. I just hoped this work would create a response. But A Red-Sharpie next to a framed work is extremely inviting…

So I Asked the Audience at SFSU’s Senior Art Exhibit of 2011.

 What do They Freaking Love…

Before

After (no comment haha)

I got into a discussion with my roommate about ideas of copying, copying, copying, and copying. We need to be inspired by others to create something of our own but that is technically not a new “thing,” just a different version. Some might look completely new ideals but they did develop from somewhere. As an Example would be “Picasso” derived ideas of Cubism practice from Chinese/Japanese Taoist beliefs of Simultaneity (creating a flat perspective as distant and proximal objects are represented in same attention. depth “being on a Taoist journey.”
This idea replicates into modern music more then ever where tracks that are claimed as being original general are not. Just quick beat loops of someone else’s work. Just another level of depth through a different dream.
Daft Punk are Kings of this...
But all in all we are just a copy of a copy but what makes you different. Fight change and create new versions, or flow with your destiny. Are you a beautiful and unique snowflake?

I stumble upon this work in the SFSU Fine Art Building a week after the Senior Art Show…
I wrote something. (I know its Difficult to see)

Examples....
